RTC CRPF Srinagar temporary shifted from its previous location i.e. Humhama, to Lethpora situated in PulwamaDistrict of UT of Jammu & Kashmir. Pulwama District being a a part of the beautiful valley is bounded by Srinagar in the North, by Budgam and Poonch Districts in the west and by Anantnaag District in the South and east. The District was formed in 1979 by separation of tehsils Pulwama, Shopian and Tral of District Anantnaag . The District administratively divided into four tehsils i.e. Pulwama, Pampore,Awantipora and Tral .
RTC Humhama, Srinagar, CRPF was sanctioned on 1st April 1990 and was made functional at Awantipora w.e.f. 07th July 1992 and was shifted to Humhama on 29th March 1994 and further temporary shifted to Lethpora Distt.Pulwama and started in full-fledged manner wef 07/10/2022 . This Institution is located in a sprawling and picturesque Campus in the PulwamaDistrict . Within a very short span of time since its establishment at this location Institution has surpassed the objectives of Training with an achievements galore.
Srinagar is the nearest City of this Institution which is largest City and summer Capital of Indian UT of J&K. it is situated in the Kashmir Valley and lies on the banks of the Jhelum River, a Tributary of Indus, and Dal &Anchar Lakes. The city is known for its natural environment, Gardens, Lakes, Waterfronts and Houseboats. It is also known for traditional Kashmiri Handicrafts and Dry Fruits. It is the Northernmost City of India with over 1 million people.
Lethpora is located in Tehsil Pampore of DisttPulwama. Srinagar Jammu NH passes through the village. It is 21 Kilometers from Summer capital Srinagar to the South . Sheikh-Ul-Alam International Airport Srinagar International Airport is situated from Campus is about 32Kms. To reach Lethpora by Train, one has to reach either Jammu Tawi or Udhampur Railway Station. The distance from Jammu to Srinagar is approximately 320 Kms. By Bus or Car, it takes roughly 8-10 hours to reach Srinagar. Due to this center being in the militancy prone area, all personnel first report at Group Centre Srinagar and then are brought to Lethpora camp by escorted convoy.

Facilities for Indoor and Outdoor Games are available at this Institution includes Hockey, Foot Ball, Basket Ball, Badminton, Tennis, and Indoor Games like Billiards, Carrom, Chess and Table Tennis.The Institute boasts of a well-equipped Gymnasium for usage of trainees.
Training
Recruit Training Centre, CRPF, Srinagar is one of the prestigious Training Centre of CRPF. This Institution imparts Basic Training to Recruits since 1992 and has trained 24227 Jawans of this Force, till date. This Institution also imparts Pre-Induction Training to improve physical/tactical proficiency to make Force personnel proficient to face different kind of L&O and Militancy challenges in the Valley. In addition of above training of various in-services courses as directed by Training Directorate as well as Kashmir Ops Sector are being conducted.
Recruit Training Centre, CRPF, Srinagar at Lethpora is located at 1800 Mtrs. above MSL. Temperature Variations is 35°C to -5°C. The Camp is adjacent to Commando Training Centre of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The General topography of the area is both mountainous and plains. Perched securely among the lofty snow-sprinkled mighty Himalayan mountain chains, the emerald blue skies peeping through the chinks of the clouds, the trees signing with the rhythm of the gusts of wind, all condense into a kind smile, forming the lovely Kashmir in the State of Jammu & Kashmir.Pampore town of Pulwama district famous worldwide for "Saffron” world’s expensive spice .
High areas of this region fall under Alpine Vegetation zone while slightly lower areas have sub-tropical vegetation. During the months from april-June, different types of perennial and annual flowering plants can be seen in this area. Due to favorable climatic conditions and availability of required soil type, different types of medicinal herbs and shrubs are found here. Trees like Chinar, Willows, Sliver Oak, Apple, Apricot, Walnut, Cherry and Pear are also seen. On the mountain slopes, colorful flowers are found in plenty. Numerous types of water lilies are found in the water bodies of Srinagar.

Sh. Rajesh Kumar, DIG, had joined this esteemed Force on14th July 1993 as Directly Appointed Gazetted Officer . He has vast experience of fighting militancy, insurgency, Naxalism and has remained deployed in various parts ofCountry which includes J&K, NES and the stintin Bijapur Distt. of Chhattisgarh, The most challenging Ops. theatre in the Country. He is one ofthe most illustrious Officer of the Force and has been decorated with a host of awards which includes Police Medal for Meritorious Service, UN Medal, DG’s Golden Disc-02 times and has been awarded with DGs Commendation Disc/ letter 04. He has also rendered his service in UN Mission in Kosovo.
Sh. Suraj Kumar Verma, Commandant, had joined this esteemed Force on 30th June 1993 as Directly Appointed Gazetted Officer. He has gigantic experiences of fighting Militancy, Insurgency, Naxalism and has remained deployed in various parts of Country which includes J&K, NES, Chhattisgarh , Bihar, MP and a stint In Andhra Pardesh. He is a fitness enthusiast, a best appreciative, confident, committed and responsive Officer. He has been awarded with DGs Golden Disc-01 and Commendation Disc/Letters 04.
